Gil S. Epstein completed his doctorate in Economics and Statistics at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel in 1994. After completing his doctorate, Gil spent two and a half years at the University of Pennsylvania.

Since 1996 he is a member of the Department of Economics at Bar-Ilan University, Israel. Gil is currently an Associate Editor of the Journal of Population Economics. In addition, he is a Research Fellow in IZA and in CReAM.

Gil has published in Journals such as European Economic Review, Management Science, Journal of Population Economics,Social Choice and Welfare and Journal of Public Economics. His current research interests include issues in Migration, Political Economy, Public Choice and Public Policy.

Gil Epstein joined CReAM as an external fellow in March 2006.
