Roland Rathelot

Roland Rathelot is a Research Associate at the Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistique (CREST) in Paris, France. He received his PhD from the Paris School of Economics in 2010. His dissertation explored some aspects of labor market discrimination and residential segregation of immigrants and second-generations in France. Prior to his academic position, he spent six years at the French Statistical Office (INSEE) and the French Ministry of Labor, where he worked on labor market evaluation and randomized trials. Roland has been a Research Affiliate at the Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) since 2010 and deputy director of the Institut des Politiques Publiques (IPP) since 2012.
His work has been published in several journals, including the Economic Journal, the Journal of Business and Economic Statistics, Journal of Population Economics, and Regional Science and Urban Economics. He is interested in the micro-econometric analysis of ethnic discrimination and residential segregation, as well as in the evaluation of labor market policies.

Roland Rathelot joined CReAM as an external affiliate in August 2012.
